eu.reca, the European Respiratory Cluster Antwerp, aims to offer a purpose-built, specialised environment for companies that focus on the LUNGS.
The ambition is to develop a knowledge platform that focuses on the lung and combating lung disease. Respiratory health is a rapidly evolving sector; there is a growing prevalence of lung problems, but also a tremendous drive to bring new treatments to the market.
As a catalyst for innovation, we want to bring promising startups into contact with leading companies, pharma with product designers, academics with entrepreneurs, investors with patients. Interaction is therefore the starting point for our operations. Our extensive network ensures an interesting field of players; our workshops and symposia encourage in-depth debate.
We also want to facilitate the development of new technologies and therapies.
Are you looking for a cluster with a focus on networking, technological innovation and support? Then why not join our cluster eu.reca.
We are increasingly hearing that in order to successfully develop in this specific segment of healthcare, it is highly important for start-up companies and established names alike to have access to: contacts with developers of a wide range of applicable technologies and a network of competencies in the core and ancillary fields. Eu.reca is creating a meeting place for these essential and specific elements.
At Science Park University of Antwerp, starting this June, we will regularly hold workshops and topical conferences, at which, in the spirit of ‘sharing best practices’ you can learn about the latest developments in the various sub-areas related to this vital organ: the human LUNG.
The Cluster eu.reca is supported by four pillars:
- Knowledge transfer (via highly specific workshops and symposia)
- Technological innovation (via networking and exchange)
- Developing innovative medicines (from idea/concept to product)
- Supporting young and startup companies (incubator activities)
Through membership in the non-profit VZW eu.reca, well established and startup companies and research centres have access to symposia, newsletters and networking activities.
Business space is also available at the site in Niel, for everyone from startups to companies looking to buy their own lot on which to build. We have a space that’s just right for every type of company. More information is available here. We are also working on joint operating agreements with various European academic centres and with similar initiatives abroad.
Have we already convinced you to join? A number of leading innovative companies apparently felt the same way, in any case, since they have already set up operations in Niel.
